IRIS Technology & Monitank chosen by Galp as a Digital Solution for energy innovation

From 16th to 17th December the EIC Corporate Days with Galp was held in Lisbon, a relevant event supported by Expresso where 15 companies from all over Europe gathered to come up with ideas that could change the way energy comes to us.

This is an event that joins the Portuguese energy company with the European Innovation Council with the aim of identifying SMEs that will offer innovation and digitalisation solutions that could be developed as pilot projects.

Between the 56 proposals from different multi-sectoral companies, IRIS Technology was one of the 15 chosen ones to present their projects of Urban Mobility, Smart Energy, Circular Economy and Digital Solutions.

We were chosen in the category of Digital Solutions, thanks to our expertise in the development of process monitoring solutions and digitalisation platforms, with the Monitank project. This project aims to develop and commercialise of a continuous sensor-based condition monitoring system capable of transmitting condition of underground storage tanks online and to defect-recognition software making it possible remote inspection of underground storage tanks without the need of decommissioning or downtime monitoring activity.

Alejandro Rosales, Science and Technology Manager at IRIS, offered a presentation to explain the capabilities of the company and the great results obtained in the Monitank project.

We wish our work as well as that of the other participating companies to help put energy innovation into tangible developments that could influence people’s day-to-day life better.
